Alphabet

In Kindergarten we also learn the alphabet in Maltese for us to be prepared for Year 1. Like the numbers we do not write the letters, we learn to recognise them & also learn them by feeling them on corrugated paper, sand paper & other feely materials. We write the letters with our finger in rice & with a paintbrush with water in the yard. That way we learn how to write letters without using pencils or crayons.

We associate each letter we do with the topic that we are talking about. During the first month (October) we learned the letter "j" since we were doing the topic "jien".

During the second month (November) we learned the letter "k" since we were doing the topic "kuluri".

We also learned the letter "b" in November because we did the colour "blu"

We learned the letter "a" as well in November because we did the colours "ahdar" & "ahmar".

During the third month (Decmeber) we did the letter "m" because we did the topic "milied".

During the month of January we did the letter "s" since we did the topic "sigurta".

We also learned the letter "p" in January since we learned about "pulizija".

We learned the letter "b" once again in January as well because we did "sigurta hdejn il-bahar".

 In the last week of January we did the letter "t" since we did "traffic lights"

During the month of February we learned the letter "x" since were learning about "xoghlijiet". It also stands for "xini" & "xufier".

We also learned the letter "i" during the month of February.

During the month of March we learned the letter "a" once again since we were learning about "annimali"
